PREMIUM GRADE BUTCHER BLOCK

Built to last from 100% Black American Walnut wood using a two stage glueing process we obtain the end grain brick pattern in which the ends of the wood pieces are facing the top. This process enables the self healing characteristics of the board by reducing the fibers that are cut with each use and help maintain a consistent look over time.

WHY IS IT KNIFE FRIENDLY?

End grain boards are well known for their quality of keeping knives sharper for a longer time compared to classic face or edge grain boards, because the fibers are stacked like a pack of straws vertically the blade does not cut through the fibers but rather slides between them. This not only helps your knives but also maintains the aesthetic of the board by greatly reducing the cut marks left behind even with daily usage.

PROTECTED & READY TO USE

Your board arrives protected, seasoned and ready to use. By using a food-safe blend of natural beeswax and mineral oil that is odorless and tasteless, we achieve a silky smooth finish that is very pleasant to work on, and also offers great protection and it is water repellent.

HANDMADE IN THE USA

Each board is meticulously crafted in our San Jose, California shop from locally sourced FSC Certified Black Walnut hardwood. We inspect each piece of lumber that ends up in our products for cracks and moisture which guarantees a solid and sturdy board that you can enjoy for years to come with proper maintenance.
